Harnessing your mind for better sports performance?

Although mental strength training is on par with the development of physical qualities and technical-tactical skills, there is still a huge untapped potential for athletes and amateurs alike. This type of coaching helps the athlete to take ownership of his or her own goals by promoting awareness of strengths, areas for improvement, autonomy and motivation.

  • Mental strategies for success, goals and motivation
  • Programming and planning of psychological training
  • Regeneration and balance (“sport-life balance”)

Etc.

Schedule of mental training for athletes
  • First contact: conversation around expectations and identification of the request / coaching theme (by telephone or internet, free of charge)
  • First session: iscovery interview which allows us to get to know each other, to clarify the objective and to define the framework of the coaching. This takes place either between the coach and the athlete, or in tripartite form, i.e. between the coach, the teenager and his/her sportscoach or his /her parents (in the case of minors and at the parents’ request).
  • Course of the sessions: several individual coaching sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours with the coach for a set period of time according to a timetable. Between sessions, exercises are suggested that allow the client to get closer to his/her goal.
  • Mental coaching, unlike other types of coaching, can be an integral part of the training and therefore continue after the goal is reached. The needs of the athlete evolve and may require a regular follow-up but more spaced out in time.
  • Closing session : evaluation of the progress and achievement of the goal to identify future perspectives. If the coaching is part of a tripartite agreement with the sportscoach or the parents, they are present during this last session.
